Ethanol is not the only problem. Suppliers are still clearing out their old stocks of pumps, injectors, carbs, fuel sensors, fuel level strips, carbs etc, which are known not to be Ethanol proof.

I've seen Leader/Arrow tanks with some bits of rust on the inside so the petroil might not be a complete protection.
However, it will certainly help if if teh tank pinholes from rust on the outside and I've seen much more evidence of that!

I havend read all but as Nev sayed Ethanol attracs water, it's also the otherway round making it easy to take the ethanol out and see how much is in the petrol.
Take a clear can, fill it half water half petrol, marker the line, shake it and the ethanol goes in to the water so you can see the amount it rises.
The underside is water so get a save amount of petrol out for a perfect ride, put new petrol in and repeat :D .

Your ride may prove a little less than perfect, since ethanol is used to raise the octane of the base gasoline to a point where detonation doesn't put a hole in your piston. Remove the ethanol and plan to walk home.
