No idea because I still don't know the make of the regulator nor what the wires do!!

Roger, I did reply to your post but I hadn't realised it didn't appear? I answered f as you can see but no idea why mine to you doesn't show? Anyway, the Reg/Rec is of Chinese Manufacture no doubt. No instructions with it but someone took the trouble to identify it and it's colours. The Pink is to be deemed same as Yellow so effectively there are two Yellows. Green is the earth wire and the Red is Feed to the Brown/White back to the Ammeter.
