Pre monobloc float bowl
Pre monobloc float bowl
I am in need of a pre monobloc float bowl to suit my 53 VB, it's 15 degrees, bottom feed to suit banjo and left hand I believe it's a 1BM but not sure, the one that came with the bike is a 7 degree, thanks for your time.
Kind regards Colin
EDIT
I could use a 1J which again I believe is 15 degrees and has nut and nipple bottom feed if so that could be an option if anyone has one for sale, thanks for reading

Hi Simon
Yes I found out I could buy one but at £175 it made me wince a little, but if it's my only option I will, thanks for the reply

Re: Pre monobloc float bowl
Hello Colin,
From the Amal list (2nd from the bottom of the sheet) it seems that a 1J is the correct float bowl for your 1953 VB. I have a spare one, in fairly rough shape, which I could sell for Canadian $50 plus postage if you can't drop by to pick it up.
Regards, Chris

Hi Chris
Thanks for the confirmation that 1J is what I need and thanks too for the offer of the one you have but as I am in Swansea UK dropping in wouldn't be an option, your price is reasonable but I would imagine postage would be expensive, but thanks again for the offer.

Re: Pre monobloc float bowl
Set up a search on eBay. You'll see a lot of float bowls, but it worked reasonably quickly for me.
cheers

Since Chris said it's a 1J I have set up a search on ebay to find one, I was looking for a 1BM, a bottom feed with banjo, cheers Simon

Re: Pre monobloc float bowl
Hi Colin, if you are still looking for the float bowl I found one in my spares box, it’s a 1J. A bit scruffy but should clean up and I’m in the UK. If you are interested please send a private message.
