1934 LH250 speedo drive

I have a 34 LH 250 and it’s missing the front wheel speedo drive.
It has the gear inside the hub and a blanked off hole in the brake plate. I assume I need a pinion and an angle gearbox.
Any advice as to what I’m actually looking for and whether they are hens teeth or common as muck would be greatly appreciated. Better still if anybody has the required bits I can purchase……..

Are you sure that your frontwheel belongs to a 1934 LH ?
Could it be a frontwheel from a WNG ?
a picture would be handy....

click below on 'full editor & preview' it now opens a larger white field.
then left hand below you see 'Options' and 'Attachments'
click attachments.
then click 'add files' and find your image in your pc, select it and click on 'add' or as in my pc on 'openen'.
you see your image now in a separate window where you can choose 'place inline' or 'delete file' . choose place inline.
that should do it... succes.

I think you may be correct regarding the front wheel. That said where would the speedo drive have come from originally? And if I keep this wheel ( which I probably will) what parts do I need?

yes, this looks very much like a WNG fronthub.
And as you wrote it has a gear fitted on the inside it certainly is!
You would need a angle drive gearbox and the small gear wheel that fits on it on the inside.
The 'long' type for RH fitment, dont use one from a 16H (LH fit) as it runs the other way and the spindle will force itself out.

best bet would be to ask here in the wanted / for sale section.
bytheway, the actuating arm is reversed, the brake rod should run behind the front mudguard stay .

But, .... a 1934 LH has a tank with a panel, I dont think it is possible to have the speedo cable coming from the front hub going to the rear of the tank where the entrance hole for the speedo cable is.
or,.. does your LH have a panelless tank ?
A picture from the whole bike would be nice..
originally the speedo cable comes from the top of the gearbox towards the rear of the petrol tank.

Thank you so much for the info. What you say makes perfect sense. I do have a panel tank so will look for the gearbox end! Do you mean the hex blanking plug?

Hi Mike, slowly, very slowly you are giving away clues....
Still no picture of the whole bike....
who told you you have a 1934 LH ?
it's looking more like a 1945 NG

yes that metric(?) nut conceals the speedo cable exit!
