With a recent barn find of a 1930 LB was a box of carburetor parts. It does not look like the carb on my LF, or indeed any Amal carb I have seen. It is stamped 47/022S, the intake diameter is 20mm (fits the intake stud on the bike), the material is bronze I believe. The attached float chamber is not ...

Thanks everyone! It’s not pinking; I know what that sounds like. I do not believe there is any significant wear in the coupling gears as as almost everything inside the engine is either new, nos or professionally reconditioned. Including each and every bearing. The one I have is on loan from another bike, so not available to use unfortunately. A friend with an Ariel tells me there used to be a member of the aomcc who made replicas of these, but cannot remember the name?
