Re: WANTED VH500 valve lifter spindle

I got this https://www-arielklub-sk.translate.goog/inzerat-2619-2636_dekompresor-motora-Ariel-1929-3?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=el from Ariel Club Slovakia for my 37’ VH500. The direction of the valve lifter arm hole is opposite but you can install your old one or leave it as is and it still ...

Re: 1937 VH Project

Hi Nev, it is not bronze it’s just shiny due to the photo angle and the other one also new but machined a bit on the end (looks like broken off).

Re: 1937 VH Project

So after a few rejections from some machine shops to fix my cylinder head, i found a local guy who installed steel valve seats at 0.006” interference fit. He did machine slightly one valve guide though to get his tool there..
Let’s see if it works and for how long.

Re: 1937 VH Project

Further to the head/valve/rocker issues i have decided to prepare a 34’ (i believe) cylinder head i have to fit in case the one I have now installed can’t be fixed properly. The problem is that I don’t know how the head bolts look like. I found the P/N and some dims of the bolts from the 34’ spare ...

Re: 1937 VH Project

Hi Volker, indeed there isn’t much space to shorten the valve. It looks like that without the cap.

Re: 1937 VH Project

On another note, today I installed the head and rocker box but i am not very happy with how the exhaust rocker makes contact with the valve due to the valve seat being too deep.
Any ideas? Shall I shorten a bit the pushrod tube as already suggested? I made those myself from 7/16” 20SWG stainless ...

Re: 1937 VH Project

Thank you Paul for checking!
So if i understand correctly, there is 3 brass types: screw type, pin & spring type and bayonet type?
My panel is for the latter?

Re: 1937 VH Project

Hi guys, DC40 question!
This is the panel I got which i believe it is a post war original (PA cutout??). The bakelite DC40 I have fits perfectly.
Is there any bronze version that fits on this panel?
