Re: help needed for special screws

Many thanks for all for these very fast reactions.
I feel encouraged by that kind of help.
As my VB project came from Denmark and I have to create it
from a number of additional collekted bits, there are surprises.
These screws are known to me from another 52 plunger frame and
I will check the ...

help needed for special screws

Hi, when being busy with building up my 53 vb I miss one part - a special screw for tensioning the secondary chain.
Screw 1.PNG
I have only one of that and for my knowlege these other screws are normal in that place
Screw 2.PNG
It seems that they are not interchangeable.
Unfortunately I did not ...

Re: GB gearbox gear lever spline size.

hi, some time ago I was also looking for the right one. The real one to use, as I understand, is made from alloy with 11/16 splines
Here it can be available : https://draganfly.co.uk/shop/63991/gear-lever-not-fh4g/#3750-52
I own also one of chromed steel, but has much higher weight. The spline size ...

Re: new member from Germany

Thank you for Information, Wade
for sure I am interested in the history of that bike. I was told it came back from India 45 years ago.
The frame number is XG 2262x. The gearbox number is XICPBL 34197.
The engine numbers are BH 13549 and BH 43547. Both came to me and it seems to me that one must be ...

Re: Help needed with GB gearbox

Thank you all for your ideas. I was busy with a hot air blower and some oil. Meanwhile the selektor fork
rotates for a few degrees as the the geometry of the housing allows that. Now it is in bath with diesel
and meanwhile I will think about an extractor to move it in axial direction.
regards ...

Help needed with GB gearbox

Hi, I am just busy with dismantling a GB gearbox for my 1953 VB.
Unfortunately the selektor fork as shown in pictures will not come out.
There is no chance for turning or axial moving and I will not damage it as I have no others.
When dimantling bearings from alloy housing I put them into the oven ...

Re: new member from Germany

Thanks to all for welcome.
As I was asked for additional photos, here they are coming :
Tank 2.jpg
This is the vintage fuel tank that I will take for the 'civilianised' W/NG
VB 53 - 1.jpg
VB 53 - 3.jpg
and this will be in future a 1953 VB
Watsonian 3.jpg
and it shall run with a Watsonian ...

Re: new member from Germany

Simon,
thank you for quick answer. I would prefer taking the W/NG frame as the side stand is included and the girder fork is also the right version
for W/NG.
You mean I should take a bigger petrol tank from VH ?
I can get it in panel version with speedo, fuel cap, service lamp and oil gauge in ...
