The speedo drive was leaking, new o ring.

as it looks like there are no rocker spindles...
Are those important?

Are the barrel flange nuts missing as well?

The head was sitting loose on the cylinders when I got it.
Engine was disassembled, cleaned crank ...

The 52 four is running.
There were some problems getting it to go after resting 62 years.
There are two high pressure oil lines, both were leaking, oil was flying.

Making progress.
Head oil feed and oil gauge feed were leaking, those are fixed.
Another leak on engine bottom, made new gasket for oil pickup plate, looks like leak between cases.

For what it's worth Jed and family made it to the UK. One of my fellow instructors was nicknamed Jed.
He was tall, came from wildest Bedfordshire but didn't have the money.
Very rare name in usa, never met any Jed.


Does the compression measure up ok?

I wonder how flat the top of the cylinder block is. You got quite forceful freeing off those seized pistons.
That is fantastic memory.
The pistons were moderatley stuck, not to bad, came out easy with the fixture I made.
I check head and cylinder both were flat.
