Re: Two stroke oil
I use a modern synthetic oil at a nominal 32:1 in my Arrow with no problems and without excessive smoke. I say nominal as I measure 300 ml and add 10 litres of fuel, but there is always some oil left in the measuring bottle.

Re: Rectifier
The AC goes through the rectifier first and only DC comes out of it so it should never be AC out of the rectifier onto the rest of the bike system. However, the original rectifier is a crude device, simply bridged diodes that by no means produces smooth DC, so it may well be choppy and bulbs could ...

Re: Rectifier
There are several 6v regulator/rectifiers available. I have used 2 types in my bikes, and A-Reg6 from AO Services and an Electrex 6/12 volt one from Feked. This is the one I have on my Arrow and previously on my Tiger Cub, both at 6V. The standard system simply uses the battery as a crude regulator ...

Re: Petrol Cap
My cap was very tight even without o-rings so I wrapped some emery cloth around it and swizzled it around in my hand until it fitted very loosely. I then put on new o-rings and all is well. I believe that the plastic swells over time.

Don't worry about the orientation, when you click the pictures they turn the right way round.

Re: Arrow warm-up
I always shut the fuel off when about 300 yards from home so the float bowl is more or less empty when I stop. As it is easy to raise the needle I will try it as I can always put it back if it doesn't help. It's a shame that the choke is either on or off as it would have been nice to be able to feed ...

Re: battery
I have used sealed AGM batteries with modern electronic reg/rec for at least 5 years on several bikes with no issues. They hold their charge very well when not in use, such as through the winter, and then spring back to life when required. It also avoids Sulphuric Acid fumes attacking the metalwork ...

Re: battery
Yes, I have put this AGM battery into my Arrow. However, I strongly recommend that you get a combined regulator/rectifier to prevent over-charging.

Arrow warm-up
My Arrow starts first kick whether hot or cold so that is pleasing. However, when starting from cold, it seems to take several minutes of "warming-up" before it is happy to drive off without choke. It tries to die when I open the throttle but recovers quickly when going back to idle. When it is hot ...
