Evening all. Does the club have historical records of the bikes built, so if for example I could give my frame number engine and gearbox number and see if all originated from the same bike. My bike was never sold to me as matching numbers but all three numbers seam to orginate from 1950, and ...

Well I like to stop did not want to change the look of the bike but stopping power is essential to the point all vehicles I own have uprated brakes as you need stopping power.

Mk1 that's a typo, I have not riden it yet as work to do on it the shoes are adjusted, the the cable is too, when I pushed the bike back into the garage down a smal slop on the dri as you need a bit of run up too get over the lip of the garage I was quite alarmed by the lack of stopping power, I ...

Yeah I remember my late uncle who was a mechanic complaining on how some has mixed Castrol R with mineral it throths up and the bearings end up getting striped. I have a oil filter on order with dragonfly the oil that's in there is a straight mineral not castrol R as you cans smell the ricin. Thanks for the guidance have bought a nice Mk1 1950 need a little cosmetic wok has been running on single grade castrol oil was rebuilt back in 2018 new pistons bearings etc, sludge traps cleaned but not rods, some say the rod thing to not a problem some say its is so does worry me a little. Care with ptfe tape please, as small bits of it can dislodge and block small oil ways.
