Am I not a member?

Dave's referring to the AOMCC membership - that's different from being a member of this forum. The forum is open to non-AOMCC members, while the spares scheme is for AOMCC members.

Please consider joining - there is a vast amount of information & knowledge to be gained, and ...

Re: Rear brake lock-up

Thanks for that, it all makes sense now. I will work out a fix.

Cheers

When you make the brake rod for your new upward pointing arm you will find the routing quite difficult I have multiple small bends in mine to get it around the suspension and the brake light switch but once it's sorted it ...

Re: Pushrod tube rubbers

Hi, all

I have new pushrod tube rubbers and also an old Britax gasket set from ebay. The Britax set has one pair of rubbers slightly shorter than the new set. Hopefully I can now mount the head without trimming the rubber.

Is there a decent way to shorten these rubbers smoothly so they don't ...

I had a similar issue, except the aluminium was slopped out. I carefully used JB Weld to restore the thread, which seems to.gave worked out well.
That's interesting - I've never used JB weld on a thread.

I'll give it a whirl.

Re: Solex AHD 26 - Low speed jet

Thanks Simon
They are a pretty simple setup, so one would think an issue could be identified easily. If you recall the paper gasket issue (blocking hole), the gasket has gone as hard as teak, so possibly passing air. Will replace

Re: Solex AHD 26 - Low speed jet

I've always assumed that because the annular air gap around that jet is constant, then the jetting arrangement must be able to cope with it.

I can't offer any more than that, but I agree it seems odd. These are commonly used carburettors in the automobile world though.

That's inspiring Tony - maybe I need an older bike.

How did you manage finding/making the fork girders?
