Re: advise please; Stainless or steel
I hope that my bit of information will be of help, in 2007 I made a set of head and barrel through bolts ( waisted so as to reduce stress concentration) and sleeve nuts in 316 marine grade stainless and have so far had no problem with them after considerable use. But I agree with the other members ...

Re: 1952 VCH
Still a bit puzzled! in Peter Hartley's book the Ariel story it says that the WA stamped frames were fitted to VB. VH.and VCH machines in 1951.so that would be a head angle of 64 degrees 2min? I have a WA frame so that would be be the closest to original that I am likely to get to with what I have ...

Shorter wheelbase, the headstock appears to be slightly steeper which would also shorten the wheelbase, my question is are the OR frames the same as or ...

Re: Balancing individual steel flywheels
Perhaps I could add a few comments to the very good one's already made, I have replaced quite a few big end over the years, (73 now) and have noticed on almost all the steel wheels that the crank pin hole has "shaved" leaving a ridge on the nut side, the best to reduce the risk of this happening to ...
