Re: Exhaust rocker box wanted

Roger, that’s great news and I will buy one when I purchase all the other parts I will need to rebuild it.

Please note that I have been able to source a rocker box from Dave Owen so big thank you to Dave.

Re: Exhaust rocker box wanted

When I spoke to Geoff, the new single spares man, he said that there was a known weakness around the area where the valve lifter fits so if they vibrate loose or someone over tightens to prevent loosening they may create a problem. Maybe, after all these years they have started fail?

I saw a photo ...

Re: Exhaust rocker box wanted

Dave, thanks for pics, I will send email during today.

Roger, with respect the Draganfly webshop does not list the -38 item at all and it appears that the -54 part says used part only available with no indication if/when new parts will be available?

Exhaust rocker box wanted

Please help if you can.

For 1950 NH

Whilst on a ride this week the exhaust valve lifter vibrated loose and has been knocked out of the way by the rocker which has totally taken out the thread holding it into the casting. Must admit I did not fully tighten it because the thread was already a bit ...

Re: Brake shoe lining length query

Oops, sorry Roger, you are correct I switched the part numbers around. So less braking material at the front, maybe still concerned about front wheel lock ups as well? I appreciate your reply regarding forces.

Brake shoe lining length query

Hello,

I have to get a spare pair of brake shoes re-lined for my 1950 NH and noticed the parts book says different lengths of lining for front and rear, does it really matter? I think the casting is the same reference but the complete shoe and lining also have different part numbers.

Front lining ...

Tank and mudguard painters in north west UK?

The painter I used for several bikes over the years has packed up and I am planning another restoration starting in the new year, can anyone recommed a painter that could do a decent job on mudguards and tank, maybe some black gloss as well. It’s not a show bike but, there will be pin stripes ...

Re: Dads Ariel Red Hunter Can you help us?

I’m fairly sure the DU frame prefix was used for the NH 350 as well as I owned exactly the same machine for some years.

Re: Cam follower identification

You may be correct Vincent but I understood the same follower was used in all singles irrespective of cams until they swapped over for 1951?

Let’s see if there are any other thoughts.

Cam follower identification

When I rebuilt my 1950 NH I fitted a well used twin lobe cam as that was all I had at the time. The bike runs quite well but the cam gear sounds noisy compared with a later single cam bike. I was thinking about using the later design in better condition to quieten the mechanical noise and from ...
