Re: WANTED: Huntmaster clutch parts
Just checked ebay and picked up the chainwheel with no bother. Thanks for the post! Just need the centre now. Drags have the right ones, but are to order, i.e. months and cost an arm and a leg.

Re: WANTED: Huntmaster clutch parts
Thanks for cheering me up, Johnny. I know what they can be like. 20 odd years ago I needed new shells for my Square 4. They took just over a year to get them.

Re: WANTED: Huntmaster clutch parts
I've been in touch with Geoff and also had a full email from Drags. Both saying the same, that one of my centres is the slightly earlier one with tags, but they can be machined off and it is then ok for the 57/58 Huntmaster. I had it in the four-jaw on my Myford this afternoon and the job is done. Now all I have to do is to work out why, when I tighten the centre nut, the hub and the basket lock together when they should be independent. Something not right somewhere, but I've checked and rechecked the order of assembly and it looks ok. So what the..........?

Re: WANTED: Huntmaster clutch parts
I think you also need to take a little off the base of the clutch centre, where it touches the basket. At least that’s what I had to do with my square four one when I adapted a tabbed clutch centre to a tabless one.
Square 4 mk1, Square 4 mk2, BSA C12.
