1950 350NH basket case

Post by PeterW »

A couple of years ago I went to Wales to buy a trail bike and this was lurking in the vendor's shed awaiting restoration. After dissassembly he decided to move it on and now its lurking in my garage :¬)
I'm planning to rebuild pretty much as is with the exception of fitting a proper Ariel tank. If anyone has something suitable please let me know, I'm not worried about condition.

Hmmm, wonder where the headstock bearings went?
Probably the same place as the clutch rollers..

I love the wire brush drive to the mag. Is your front tank mount missing?

Yep, front tank mounting had been removed, somethig else welded on and then that removed. I'll get a new one made up if I can find a tank at a sensible price.
I adjusted the speed of the drill right down but even so I doubt I could kick that fast :¬)
Gives a reasonable spark flicking it by hand so hopefully ok.

Made a bit more progress today.

I have the front frame mount for you for free, it's still on a part frame, the Dutch rally is next weekend, some English members are there like Peter Kemp?.

Adrie - that's very kind, I didn't think I'd find one.
& Steve - if you could relay it back to the UK that would be great :¬)
