just about to go on a ride on my WNG but first the tape measure. Its 18'' from the centre of the wheel axle to the centre of the damper spindle. I believe that the civilian forks are 16.5''

checked mine and they are approx 18" from wheel axle to the centre of the damper ,and 19.5" from wheel axle to the headstock spindle centres(sorry for the terminology, not that familiar with girders).
thanks

Bike back in shed, after running a few errands, nice ride was had.
The full length of the forks right up to the top spindle that takes the two small springs is 27"
I haven't cleaned my gg since I bought it around 2 months and 1000 miles ago, and it looks cleaner!!! all bikes should be drab green :D
You will have a great time with your WNG.
