The early 1940 design had staggered holes....here is an image from Conucopia... that is why there are two part numbers for the 1940 part because, as Nev says, the top and bottom clips are different because of the staggered holes. The later 1941 design are identical top and bottom as the holes are ovalised. The good thing about making them yourself is that you can custom fit them to your bracket and stand.
