M01 mag, wobbly fibre gear

Post by T Batnes »

Hi folks. Got a M01 mag refurbished recently. While checking it prior to installation, I notice that the fibre gear touches the inside of the gear cover - and after I take of the cover the reason is that the fibre gear is wobbly. Now isn't that funny on a refurb? How to rectify? Change or straighten the gear centre plate onto which the gear rests on? Film on this link; https://www.facebook.com/groups/2809984 ... 781522267/

Have you rang the company/person that refurbished your mag and asked them to fix it ? If so and they aren't playing ball maybe name and shame them. As for the mag is it the clutch plate that is warped or fibre wheel poorly manufactured ?
Good luck with it,
all the best, Keith.

Found the cause of the wobbly wheel. Dislodged key on shaft caused the gear steel hub to not seat proper. Rectified and now it's good. Torqued the nut to 10 lb.ft. Hope to avoid slipping clutch. See link to FB posting above for films.

Because there's no taper to take the drive, and the load therefore goes on the keys and the fit on the shaft. Nev
