Re: Mudguard stay stud
That IS a fairly effective way to do it, but I would stick to the BSC 26 TPI threads preferably. You are much more likely to get some good quality bar than make it from high quality hexagon and heat treat it. That particular part carries a lot of load. The fit of the 3/8 part in the frame must be good so oversize it a bit if needed for good thread fit. You can also lengthen it a bit to have a thin locknut there as well. If you cut the threads in a lathe first and finish with good quality adjustable dies you get a nice job that will LAST. Nev

Re: Mudguard stay stud
Hi Nev
The thread 3/8 is the one that I found in the in de hole frame, if it was 26 tpi it must have been modified.
This was a first attempt to get closer to what was the original stud.
My mudguard stays are a mess... No original.... another part tu reproduce...
I think I should get tap and die in 26 CFI
There is a Thread list for al the bolt, stud and nuts for Ariel WNG?

Luis, Yes on the drags website here:LuisPaz wrote: There is a Thread list for al the bolt, stud and nuts for Ariel WNG?
https://www.draganfly.co.uk/data/pdf/Fa ... 20list.pdf
The list includes BSA stuff so you need to find the Ariel part number of the part you need then check the list. Not everything is there, but with most parts if you check on the Drags website by part number they give you the thread size.
FYI almost everything on my '39 VH and 42 WNG is british cycle 26 tpi
Cheers
