Another mystery item :)
Any idea what they’re for??
I’m assuming they’re not original to a WNG

Re: Another mystery item :)
It's one of the places the undertray fits. Might be the remnants of it. Nev
Re: Another mystery item :)
Thanks for the reply Nev.
Do you know if the WNG had its own specific undertray or
where they retrofitted with what was on hand at the time ??
Thanks again

Re: Another mystery item :)
There's only one undertray I've seen used and it's a flat steel plate. with a bend in it's length. Copies are made by John Budgen. I don't fit them as they are a bit heavy and not needed for normal riding and make getting at the sump plate harder. The fittings on that image are not like the standard ones that I've seen. The Pn 2400-40 seems to first appear in the MAY 1941 SPARES LIST. Not listed in the December 40 list. You have the extended stud which is required with the standard tray and has to be removed to get it off. The lugs are welded to the original tray and are a fixed distance apart so it's not that easy. The hole(s) are (originally) oval as well so don't fit the frame too precisely also. Nev
