Luis
These are the casting numbers on the stand fitted to my 1939 VH and 1942 WNG:
http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewt ... and#p53818
So E9/599 matches mine so looks like its Ariel rigid frame

Re: Ariel Rear Stand Id
Alan, thank you!!
You has given me a great News!
I have a very rough reproduction installed and with this I can complete my WNG with original parts.
I have been lucky to find that part in my country, where there are few Ariels.
Cheers

Re: Ariel Rear Stand Id
Most definitely Ariel rigid frame, 1936 onwards - you have the correct part for your bike.

Re: Ariel Rear Stand Id
A lot of bikes of that period were two pipe and upswept so the legs are straight. The RH with a low pipe has to have a more defined curve on the RH (with spring) side, starting close to the top to clear the muffler.. It should bend OK . The1941 W/NG parts book shows it as 5500-36 Nev

Re: Ariel Rear Stand Id
The 1939 singles part is also 5500-36. The parts list only lists one stand so it must be suitable for upswept and down swept exhausts. It does however list two pivot bolts for the left side depending on which system you have ...but for one pipe (right side) everything is the same
