Re: W/NG timing chain
Luis, Yes just use the half link, no split link. As long as you have 35 links total it will be correct length

Re: W/NG timing chain
Luis, did you peen over that half link or is it just held on by the split pin?

Yes, that cover is a bit rough there should be plenty better than that around. Nev

Re: W/NG timing chain
Luis, if that was my timing cover I'd have stuck something on it with epoxy or even car body filler (Plastic Padding served me well in its original formula).
It may not be very 'professional' but it's quicker and easier than alloy welding (especially if you don't have access to an alloy welder) and it's a lot better than having a chunk missing.
(I've used epoxy to replace a piece of the inner face of that cover before now - where it butts up against the crankcase, that someone had knocked out with a screwdriver. That turned out to be a permanent repair!)

What good advice do you give me and gives me hope to repair if I do not find a replacement.

Re: W/NG timing chain
Why when oil pump is running, oil comes out through the hole marked with the red arrow?

The oil is dripping from the top through the pushrodpipes on the cam and that is coming from the hole to a level and than goes back in to the crankcase.

Re: W/NG timing chain
Yes it's only a drain hole near the lower part of the outer chaincase. That chaincase is essentially the same for a long time. The adjustable oil pressure component changed in the early W/NG period. Even an early bike could have had it replaced during servicing. There have been quite a few new ones about over the years. Surely someone has one better than that lying around spare. Nev
