Re: W/NG timing chain
Adrie,
In photo number 2 is that a brass washer over the crankshaft oil feed pipe /quill . I have the same cover but have not seen a washer/spacer like that in the parts lists /
Cheers

Re: W/NG timing chain
Luis,
I wonder what others think about using the split pin to secure the half link to the chain. I think it may possible catch on the oil pump as the chain goes around. Could you peen that link pin over rather than using the split link?
Alan

Re: W/NG timing chain
Interesting, is there any advantage in such a seal given that you cannot produce any oil pressure against a roller big end bearing?adrie.degraaff wrote:It's someones idea of an oil seal, i have bought it this way.alan.moore wrote:In photo number 2 is that a brass washer over the crankshaft oil feed pipe /quill . Re: W/NG timing chain
Just a comment .that is a nice cover but is the 39 and earlier type that must have the pressure adjustment stuff complete in the upper hole or the oil will not be fed to the big end. Nev

There is space behind the oil pump. No problem i think with the split pin.
