Re: W/NG timing chain
It's standard chain for older pushbikes. Doubt they used half links though and I think one is necessary. I will double check today time permitting. Nev

Re: W/NG timing chain
Hi Nev!
I found this bicycle chain kmcchain.us/chain/hl710-silver/
Can one of your half links be used?

Re: W/NG timing chain
Checked today all mine and you have to use a 1/2 link and it will have to match the chain.. I can't see how you could reasonably make one that would be reliable . Nev

Re: W/NG timing chain
Thank you Eero for the link!
After many telephone calls and consultations, I found a seller of industrial chains and he offered me this half link.
Maybe I can rivet and not use the lock pin ..
What do you think?

Re: W/NG timing chain
Have a look at this post. http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewt ... ming+chain You will see in my photo that the chains have one 'cranked' / half link which gives the odd number of links (35) required.LuisPaz wrote:Hi Nev!

Drags and John Budgen both do them
Just saw your last post. If you can rivet that link i think it should work OK

Re: W/NG timing chain
Thank you Alan for tha usefull post!
Next Saturday in my workshop I will try to build the chain with the parts that I found here in my country.
As a last resort, I will have to buy in the EU/UK.

Re: W/NG timing chain
I think it would work fine, if you have right amount of links.

Re: W/NG timing chain
Line the magneto up carefully when you put it on and get the tension right. They don't give a lot of trouble but swapping joining links etc for different makes of chain you often get a variance in the pin diameters. Nev

Re: W/NG timing chain
Thanks for your recomendation Nev!!
I will take it in count!
I've been thinking about using only the middle link and not adding the split link...
