Regulator orientation

Post by alan.moore »

Regarding a rigid single which was up does the regulator fit, that is are the FADE terminals at the top or bottom when it is bolted to the two brackets?

Thanks
Alan

At the top, so the terminals are hidden by the folded cover.

My SQ4 had the remains of the original harness in this position.

Cheers . Do you happen to have a photo of the folded cover so I can knock one up?

Cheers
Alan

If I recall correctly, there were a few posts about those covers on the forum - perhaps part built?

Shout if you need some measurements, they are quite accessible on both my bikes.
cheers

Could you let me have the dimensions marked on your pic of the cover please:

Simon,
No need for the measurements. managed to knock one up after making a cardboard template. I have to say I am pretty pleased with it

It is a DVR 2 £51 inc P&P

http://dynamoregulators.com/dvr2.php

I looked at all the others and picked this one as apparently it starts to charge even if the dynamo is only turning slowly, which some of the other makes do not. The long length of wire to the reg connections is because the seller said to make sure it works OK before i shorten the cables to get it inside the MCR1 box

I see. Its noticeable that the VReg on my SQ4 doesn't start charging until maybe 15 mph.

I have been using the dvr2 for awhile on my bikes they do exactly as they say they do and are great bit of kit. In fact I now only ever fit theses and I will do so on any other bikes I own.
