Does anyone ever wear a pudding basin helmet? Does it attract the attention of the UK police?

As long as it's a original pudding basin one from the early days youre o.k. law enforcement wise.
Al others (I guess post 1970 or so) are ' for display purposes only' .

Yesterday I tried on a Premier Vintage jet helmet, does absolutely feels nowhere as safe as my current flipup .....

last week i saw someone wearing one of those Davida classic basin helmets, it looked awesome....but do wonder about protection though......I cant remember anyone that i know being stopped or fined for having wrong helmet....not saying it doesn't happen, just not a lot i don't think. I was seriously thinking of getting one of the bell classic series of helmets but only has American DOT certification, calculated risk i guess, if your prepared to take it......

I dont think you will be stopped because of wearing a puddin basin, but in case of a accident with head injury your insurance will most likely find it a reason to leave you out in the cold - or coma-

I sometimes wonder whether a crash helmet might be quite useful as a safety aid, rather than as an item of fancy dress. I wonder if anybody has thought of that before?

So, I won't admit to often wearing my old Pudding Basin when I feel like it.

Hmmmm, rather worrying if they dont see the difference between mopeds and motorbikes anymore.

Last week I went to Blom Triumph in Amersfoort and tried on a Davida Jet.
This one fitted much better then the one I tried on a couple of years ago, so finally Davida decided to take my headshape as the norm...

Ordered one like this :

Comes with EU approval, all other helmets by Davida only have a US approval or non at all like the Cromwell type they sell.
