Front brake shoe return springs

Post by alan.moore »

Does anyone know if there is an alternative to the 4110-30 WNG front brake shoe return spring. Drags say they can no longer supply it

Do you have a sample? If so, a good old fashioned brake and clutch establishment should be able to supply something of similar dimensions, otherwise you can buy longer tension springs without the curled ends and cut them and form the ends yourself. Use 1 and a 1/2 turns of the long spring and form your own end each end. ( bend out 90 degrees) Squash it to oval in a vyce and cut off the surplus. Nev

Alan
Martyn Bratbury of carburettor fame has a large selection of springs and has made some to pattern for me in the past, give him a try.

I don't have a PM or email from you ?
In any case, i didn't have any made up .. I bought a selection from a spring supplier.
I moved house, since I did this, and a search of my garage hasn't turned up any "left over" - sorry

No i replied to your 2012 post in the four stroke section as I found that post after I started the topic in WNG. Thanks for having a look.
