Having returned from last weeknds run on an AA recovery trailer, I am now fitting another new tube and was wondering if anyone had any success fitting puncure proof foam to the tube BEFORE having a punture . This being the third rear punture I have had over the last few years. I have a security bolt so its not a valve ripping out just the normal nail.

I agree with Paul . A good decent thick Inner tube seems to work for me.
Here's a link to the one I've been using from Bridgestone.
Just need to scroll down a bit

On a rally in Belgium some years ago we must have gone over a load of nails in the road. Many people had punctures as a result. Those who had the sealing goo inside their tubes found that their tyres went flat rather later than those without the goo - perhaps half a day or a day later. But they still went flat.
