Newly acquired '56 VH500
Mentioned my new (to me) Ariel in another thread but thought I should post a pic now that I have done some cleaning and prep work like cleaning the collapsed gas tank liner material and changed the oil.
Picked this up from an AOMCC member and avid owner of Sq4's, KHA, Vincent's, MV Augusta amongst many others. Very happy to have done the deal I must say.

Great find looks to be so original and complete makes me jealous, two weeks into my restoration and I haven't even finished stripping mine down yet and lots of parts are needed to take it back to original.

Being the owner of a 1956 VH for 48 years, (my main transport now), i can say it's a nice original bike, it's not nice that they have cut the rear mudguard wich is difficult to make or find.
Re: Newly acquired '56 VH500
Very nice. You did well to find it. I love my 57 VH which I have had for 3 months now. Some fabulous country around Kamloops. My wife and I were there last September on the Rocky Mountaineer.

Thanks gentlemen. I agree Adrie, the mudguard is a small problem but one I can live with.
The riding here in the interior of BC is pretty spectacular with a large variety of terrain and roads that can provide almost any style of riding you could wish for.

Thank you Rein, I was thinking of you yesterday as I am assembling one of my gearboxes and installed the clutch arm you kindly provided a while back. I trust all is going well for you and your family.

Nice bike, all it needs is to be on the road.
