The 1/4" holes in the "bushing plate" are quite ovalised to allow the assembly to float and both shoes to contact equally. That''s why they have the Thackeray washers and stepped nuts.. Nev

That's the way it's designed and I've seen it confirmed in word also . Luis you will have to continue the flat face of the shoe that contacts the cam further out towards the drum contact area or the cam will only move one shoe initially . Do both so they will interchange as the originals do. Nev

Sorry to throw problems Luis, but the short shaft on the end of the lever is rivetted on and can rotate. The hole is also oval to prevent the brake rod turning when you move the adjusting Knurled,round knob/nut. The end bits of the shoe sticking up near the fixed pivot are bent to fit in under the head of the pivot to control end movement there. (prevent the shoe wandering away from the brake backplate.) Nev
