Out and About and Amal 276 Question

Post by Michael.Brown »

Hi all,

I have been making one or two improvements/changes as the weather has been so poor, so it was good to get out and about today. A little bleak and cold but a worthwhile ride. Horn is now in its correct position and I have added a couple of small folding bar end mirrors that don't look too obvious. I have also tidied up the handlebar controls as the left hand side was poorly laid out.

Quick question for you:

How many turns out should the pilot air screw generally be on an Amal 276 carb?

Just the dynamo charging to sort out and double check tightness of all nuts and bolts (have had a few come loose during the first fifty miles since I bought her), the kickstart fell off and the velocity stack unscrewed itself today but these just add to the character of the bike.

Mike

Thank you Dave,

BTW the oil is really returning well now, and the horn is back where it should be!
