We have a cracked lever on our bike. Drags do not seem to list this type so I am asking if anyone has a source. The levers are thin and solid not the curved metal type.

These levers are none too easy to find. The only source I know is boxes at autojumbles.

I suspected as much. None at Newark today unfortunately.

Thanks. Just had a look on that site.

The levers seem to be flatter than the ones we have. The ones on the bike are similar but rounded and finish with a point.

I thought I had a picture but it looks like it did not take.

There's a variation in lever shape. the main characteristic is the blade is fairly wide where you grip it and lens shaped in section, particularly so with the brass ones. They are actually very nice articles .Probably just "period" rather than special for the war effort. There are Doherty's as well but I don't think Ariel used those. (Matchless) I haven't found them to go to a point unless they have been scraping on the road and they are usually uneven near the end, when that has happened. You wouldn't want the bright chrome finish, Particularly on a military bike. You can remove it in Hydrochloric acid. That doesn't remove the Nickel underneath, if it's there). Nev

I made up a pre-war lever id photo a few years ago. Accuracy may not be 100% but they will show you what civilian/military levers look like. Military one should not be chromed.
