Negative or positive ground?

Post by greg.geonetta »

Planning on building a new wiring harness for my bike('51 SQ4) and was wondering if there is anything to consider when changing over to a negative ground system.

Nothing in it, if you are keeping it stock - mine is negative earth.

Things to watch when upgrading are that modern electronic components are polarity sensitive, so you will need to be aware when you choose LED lamps, voltage regulators or electronic ignition.

Going negative earth gives you a little more flexibility in this choice.
cheers

I like negative earth as I'm increasingly confused these days and it's compatible with modern vehicles.......
