1921 4.5 ariel

Post by brian.stone »

I have a 1921 4.5 single Ariel with chain rear drive and rear drum brake and front rim brake ready for restoration
I am interested to know if anyone has or knows of a similar model either complete or not. the 4.5 hp seems to be very unusual. Andy Hughes a club member is interested in it and also very knowlegable of this model

Hello Brian

I don't know of another one of these in the UK, any chance of sending the numbers to Tony Barnett?
He is compiling a database of pre-'26 machines.

Looking forward to seeing a picture or two!

Brian,

I'd definitely be interested in the engine and frame number if you are happy to send them to me (and the reg number too would be helpful). Email is kazz1e@ntlworld.com (sometimes the `1' becomes an `L' by mistake).

I have a 19/20ish W&P engined Ariel but no idea if its 3.5 or 4.5 (I always assumed it to be 3.5hp).
