Pin striping on 1928 Ariel Tanks

Does anyone have an evidence-based view on what the pin striping was like on 1928 tanks? Was it just a gold line or thick gold thin blue (which I reckon looks great). Was there lining on the top part of the tank? Being a hand made decoration, I understand that the basic dimensions will have varied and I can see this in original pictures. The patterns on "restored" bikes vary wildly. Wonder also if there was pin striping on back of toolbox or elsewhere?
