1935 VH Silencer split
This is the second time, obviously being a 500cc it gives the silencer quite an amount of pressure cycles. It has a Velo baffle tube welded closed at the end and to the exhaust pipe.
I'm wondering what to do to stop it splitting again after I repair it this time.
I found it was too noisy to run without any baffle.

Is there any way you could use an absorbent wool rather than a baffle, reducing the pressure in the silencer? Either that or reinforce the joint with a plate - turning a butt joint into a lap joint.
cheers

I think some absorbent wool might help once I manage to get it welded back together ,it might cushion the expansion from the exhaust.
