The reference is to the outer kickstart bush rather than the gear selector shaft bush. I have replaced the steel kickstart shaft bushing and can say that the bush in mine was not flared but was a heat and fall out job.

You are correct . I missed that.
On another note the new clutch centre seems like it's made of steel . The originals are of cast iron. the centres are known to strip in the splines hence the wider splines on the later models. With the part in question being of steel I doubt you would have any trouble with the splines as long as the nut is tight. I use larger diameter nuts for the end of the driveshaft so you need a different locktab. Nev
