Arrow 6v to 12v

Post by A.clarke »

Hi all
Does anyone know the battery number you need if I change from 6 volt to 12 volt on my ariel arrow, and advice on other parts that may need replacing.
Thanks

Hi
I converted my arrow to 12v Pazon ignition, and used the following battery, rotor, stator and regulator. The stator is very slightly bigger than the original Lucas, so a bit of turning/ easing to get it to fit. The higher power of this stator allows a halogen headlight without draining the battery.

Thanks Dave
My arrow above half throttle seems to miss and spit back so I think it's loosing it's spark or it is irratic at high rev's. My Pazon is for 6 or 12 volt but I assume I will have to use 2 - 6 volt coils instead of the 3 volt supplied.

Alan
I used the Pazon True-Fire Ariel Arrow/Leader (12 Volt) which allowed me to use the old 6v coils, so I don't know about your system - sorry

Does that system use an idle spark (ie firing both coils at the same time)?

I am just taking my Pazon electronic ignition off to rule that out as i have already had a fault with it.
