Well, my neighbour has produced the hinged mudguard bits, but I don't think its Ariel.
The Reg No. 'VSF 316' doesn't find a match on the DVLA website, someone may have a better way of identifying the original bike.
The guard isn't complete but it looks 50s to me. There was a pair of rear suspension units with it, which may or may not have had anything to do with the bike.
Can anyone identify this guard please ??
It appears to have had a sort of rubber strap bolted around the lower rear edge - very curious :
My neighbour says "No reasonable offer refused"
.

I meant to say . .
My neighbour still hasn't finished clearing sheds, garages & house following his pal's death so more of this mudguard may yet surface.
The other day we pulled a "Boat Restoration Project" out of a barn, sheeted it down and towed it back here to the Farm.
Its rotten and full of pigeon droppings - it will be burnt
. . . . . . . . . .
Unless someone wants it
.
It was built on the Clyde in the 1950s
.

The taillight appears to be lucas circa 1952 or later, the rest resembles nothing I'm familiar with. Nev

Another Burney.....
It still has a screw, any engine inside ?
Mudguard could be something BSAisch, those flat sides look like it coming from some sort of BSA.

Hi Bob,
If you sail it over here I'll take it!

this fibreglass reproduction motorcycle part manufacturer makes the Ariel rear mudguard tailpiece. His work is first quality, although in fibreglass. I have seen his valenced front mudguards. He is located near Gosford NSW Australia. Postage on the part may not be too expensive if you cannot locate one elsewhere.
