Toolbox Lid

Post by simon.holyfield »

Folks,

I have two pictures of the inside of my large toolbox each showing two rivets at the lower ends of the toolbox. Were these for the document wallet or something else? There is no evidence on the outside (they have been ground flat for civilian paintwork).

Look closely!

Does anyone know how the retaining chain fits?

Another question chaps: My small toolbox has this short tube fitted (riveted) in the hole for the knob:

The large toolbox just has a hole (although a large hole, suggesting it has lost the tube)

Is this normal? My 1951 SQ4 toolbox just has a plain hole.
cheers
