There is a small seepage at the retaining bolt/nut of the tank on the W/NG, my intention is to have it professionally repaired. however I shall be using the machine, I hope, for the rallies this year to would really like to shake it down, my question is -
can anyone tell me what other tanks will fit the bike and does anyone have a useable tank I could borrow and use on a temporary basis, or any other, nice, ideas?

Whilst Simon's reply is undoubtedly the most useful answer, I can't resist the temptation to answer the question "What else would fit?"

I think you may well find that petrol tanks from the 350cc models from 1933 to 1956 will fit, along with the tanks from 500cc models from 1933 to 1956 and 600cc models from 1933 to 1956. The 1000cc model tanks from 1936 to 1959 should fit, but the 350 / 500 / 600 / 650 cc model tanks from 1957 to 1959 will need two jubilee clips on the top frame rail holding a piece of slotted steel to take the centre tank bolt if they are to be used.

Leader, Arrow and Colt tanks will not fit.

Could you repeat that with E10 petrol or alcohol?

I will, when I find some. These tests were done with E5 - I don't think I've seen E10 around our way yet.

read you blog, appears to be good stuff Simon, couple of negatives on the amazon users site but also many positives maybe worth a shot a £8 or so, mind you I would like to be able to use the bike while 'tis setting, where did you get your tube from? kind regards
