Re: front brake rod thread size ?
Vincent,
7/32 x 32 is correct. I purchased a tap/die to make up my own as the original brass T nut was thrashed. Ray

Re: front brake rod thread size ?
I'm sure my reproduction brake rod is smaller than that.
Are the original ones 7/32" all the way to the top?

Re: front brake rod thread size ?
Hi Simes,
Yes, the lower end of the front brake rod, milled flat on both sides to fit the brake arm, is threaded 7/32 x 32 tpi.
Unfortunately, having the 2 flats means you cannot chase the threads with a die. I have since removed the chrome and painted the rod black.
Making a new brass t-nut tightened the assembly up nicely.

It must be the wrong place to buy from.
I bought the same size of tap, but I can't remember if it was from Tracy Tools or Unithread.
The price was quite different.

I was wrong about this. The repro one I have from Drags measure up to be about the right size - it's painted too, so i can't be too accurate.simon.holyfield wrote:I'm sure my reproduction brake rod is smaller than that.
