w/ng purchase

Post by RTichard Woolnough »

I have agreed to purchase a 1942 w/ng from a club aquaintance, it has been civilianised in the past and sports a red tank on mainly black cycle parts, I am wondering if a bike this age would have had tank instuments when manufactured or an independant speedo?, this has such, doesn't bother me if it is not correct just would like to know, kind regards

Welcome aboard!

W/NGs have a speedo head mounted on the forks, in two different places depending on when it was built.

Do you have the engine and frame numbers? We can sort the speedo location out for you.

Do you have some pictures?
cheers

Welcome to the exclusive order of W/NG lovers. A high ground clearance lightweight mount of some considerable merit. Nev

I live just outside of Folkestone Kent, I do have a few other machines also but acrually wanted a prewar machine, however this came up and ticks all the right boxes so it will be mine next week. I have a couple of chums who own Ariels, one Pete Robinson, has a prewar square four,'nother couple of aquaintances with slopers so it will be in good company. kind regards
