The originals work fine, but the speedo gets a hard time being unsprung .That helps the cable as the length stays constant Angled back a bit might be easier to see, but watch where the cable ends up. (bends and length). The length has to be pretty correct. Mine currently is a bit long needing to bow out the front a little..Nev

Main question is, does the speedo point up at the sky this much?
I'm wondering, looking at some other bikes, if I have the rear bracket upside down?
cheers

Speedo is at a right angle to the front of the girder.
I've put pins through the nuts and locked headlamp bolt with a nut on the inside after hearing someone got his WD speedo nicked at a bike meet.
Dont look at all the non Original parts, the speedo and headlamp brackets are genuine Burney
Red light on top is ignition (coil) .

That's brilliant, thanks Vincent. I can really get stuck in to making some brackets now - I'm thinking 3/4" wide & 3/32" thick, is that about right?
cheers

Mine measure 16.7 x 3.6 mm but they have been in the fire so could be a bit below size.
They are both the same, it took me a while to figure that out because the fire had bent them.
another pic before I painted them (different speedo)

That's excellent, thanks. Will it be OK if I use one or two in the blog? I will say where they came from of course.
cheers

Chaps,

I need to clean up the cable threads on the speedo head and gearbox.

They are close to 25-26 tpi - does anyone know what they actually are?
cheers

Simon,

I think you will find that they are 0BA, an infuriating thread because 1/4 cycle or BSF nearly fits but is just too loose to work.
