WTB or trade 1928 Mainspring

Post by wade.edwards »

WTB or trade for 1928 mainspring and top spring anchor. The wire thickness of the spring should be 7.5 mm and the number of coils should be 13.

This is all that's needed to complete a set or 28 forks.

Thanks!

Hi Chris,
No, they are not the same. D9/163 is the number for the the 1929 and 1930 forks. They are unique as these two years didn't use the spring compression system. Are you sure you don't have a 28 spring in a box in the back of a drawer?

Im sure the club had some 28 springs made a while back. Worth asking Pat.

The Club has a spring, so just the top anchor to find. Thanks!

If you are keen you can make the anchor. The spiral can be filed, if you don't have machinery. Rome wasn't built in a day either. Nev

Hi Wade,

I'm quite sure the Slovak Ariel Klub have the top anchor points for the '28 on their website.

Cheers,

John

Good one, John. Thanks for that! I haven't found a direct link to any parts the Club may have available but I have sent an email inquiry. Do you have a direct link to parts?
Cheers
