It's interesting back then they thought there was only 30 W/NG'S still existing. Just goes to show how many were tucked up in sheds and barns

Just our own Hampshire branch 5 W/NG'S amongst our ranks,
I used to think I had the fastest one till one night riding home along the M27 following a certain 82 years young John Hulme on his wng, my poor bike was showing nearly 70mph and he was still getting away!. His rear light had disintegrated but he was passing everything, never did catch him. He said he always went faster when he couldn't see his speedo :)

The late Ralph Hawkins managed to prove that the 250cc version of the W/NG was a myth. The numbers for a batch of normal 350cc were entered into a Despatch Book previously used for 250cc machines and this caused the confusion. Ralph also found an original W/NG from the batch which was, and always had been, 350cc.

Steve,
Do you think these Hampshire members would share pictures of their machines on the W/NG forum, that would be very nice!
Regards, Paul ;)

Yes I'm sure they will Paul, I'll try and get a few of the photos myself.
I might need a high speed camera for John's bike :D
