Olive drab...
Allmost there!
Started to repaint my 1940 civilianised W/NG which I aquired last october.
I did choose olive drab with a semi matt/eggshell finish which looks quite good in my opinion.

Looks great Paul. Are you going to paint the wheel rims?

Re: Olive drab...
Steven,
yes I know they should, but on the other hand it does not look to bad isn't it? In fact it looks rather good. So I'am not realy sure yet What do you reckon? Will spray the exhaust pipe and mufler dull silver. Or should they be black?
Cheers, Paul

Re: Olive drab...
Heatproof black I think , In real action you wouldn't want anything shiny ,would you ?
That probably applies to the wheels as well.

Ian, will sleep on it, you are prob. right although the rims and spokes are sprayed 2K dull silver. Are you shure about black for the exhaust?

Re: Olive drab...
I have only seen a couple of genuine Ex WD bikes in original colours and both were olive drab all over everything ,but the exhausts had turned to British Racing Rust.Paul Slootheer wrote:Ian, will sleep on it, you are prob. right although the rims and spokes are sprayed 2K dull silver. I did a bit of research on the net and best I could find was this pic of an M20 which seems to be the same.

Re: Olive drab...
I think there is a silencer on the ground between the two wheels, that looks like dull chrome

Dull chrome (silver paint) for the exhaust it will be! I know the rims should also be olive drab, but for now I leave them. Still recovering from the thinner fumes from the paint... (cellulose paint on thinner base). Dries within minutes!
