They are very similar to the rear engine plates I had on my 44 wng. Including the alternative holes for mounting the footrest stud.

Hello Dave, the bits that hold the gearbox are cut off ...odd.
yes, they have the two holes for the footrest rod like on a W/NG

Vincent, if you aren't using the steel primaries, wondering if there is anything usable after the fire. Vic Horely needs the PLATE, CHAINCASE BEHIND THE CLUTCH 5705-43 to complete his steel primaries. Anyone else have a lead?

Re: WNG prim chaincase and gearbox
Sorry, apart from the clutch dome the rest was just layers of wafer thin rusted sheet metal.
I think the clutch dome can be saved, perhaps with a layer of polyester on the inside and a lot of TLC.
Free for a aomcc member. Chaincase looks o.k. on this picture but it crumbled when touched.

Re: WNG prim chaincase and gearbox
Nev, did you ever compare the ally and W/NG engine plates on your bench? If so, how are you at posting pics with measurements or a clear description of the hole locations? I need to upgrade my standard plates to W/NG plates with the appropriate additional holes. Don't fancy trial and error on an historical motorcycle.
Thanks
