Wonder if the current Ariel factory would quote for fixing it? They must have access to decent facilities.

Mike
it might be worth me contacting Sean O Brian - be interesting to see what his experience was. Is he on the forum as I could drop a private message.
Peter
had considered taking it to my local Ariel garage but someone told me they were shut over the Easter period.

Hello Mark,
Glad that you are -more or less- o.k. get well soon.
Looking at the crushed remains of the SQ4 it's a small miracle you survived.
That sneeze must have been a snooze.
best regards, Vincent

Re: Square 4 meets 'white van man'
Thanks Vincent
Miracle indeed - at one point my head was actually under the front of his van and able to see his wheel discs, track rod ends etc. (the bike was wedged under the front of the van, raising the front and creating more room otherwise I would have been crushed) . It was only because the bike at some point dug into the road causing it to rotate anticlockwise and drag me out from underneath that I live to tell the tale
The old bike saved me and I wont be giving up lightly, so no matter how long it takes this old Ariel will be back on the road - it just will take a long time to do it.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Mark. Unlucky to have been involved in an accident but extremely lucky to have survived to tell the tale by the looks of it. As old bikes are addictive, I'm sure when you are able to we will being seeing great shots of your repaired SQ4 back on the road at some point !
Once again, get well soon.
Regards,
Keith.
