Re: Grandfathers Bike
The EPG series of number was issued between October and November 1936 so we can assume this number was issued sometime in November 1936. That makes the bike a 1937 model year bike, built in 1936 as the new model year started in the autumn of the previous year (usually at the beginning of September) in time for the Motorcycle shows.

Re: Grandfathers Bike
When I said `presumed destroyed' I referred to the registration records for Surrey, not the Ariel. Apologies.

Re: Grandfathers Bike
I have checked with my friends 1936 VH, it was delivered on 20-3-36 to the owner, so it's not this one but it gave me an other search question.

Re: Grandfathers Bike
My dad has found some other photos which should show some more details. He is sending them over to me so I can scan them in, may take a few days but will keep you posted.
